Homemade Tuna Melt Sandwich

Packed with 50g protein, lower in calories, and loaded with flavour.

Ingredients

  • 250g tuna (canned or pouch)
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1 jalapeno, chopped
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 3 tbsp light mayo
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (sriracha)
  • 1 lemon, squeezed
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bread of choice
  • 1/3 cup light cheddar cheese

Steps

  1. 1. In a bowl, combine tuna, red onion, green onion, celery, jalapeno, minced garlic, parsley, light mayo, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2. Spread the mixture onto slices of bread and top with light cheddar cheese.
  3. 3. Toast in a lightly buttered pan until golden, crispy, and melty.

Notes

Use high-quality tuna for the best results.
